Art Ramblings and a Sale

I am having a sale today through Wednesday April 24 on http://teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Gena-Mcwilliams.

My daughter, grandchildren, and I went to our hometown's museum to see Charles Ladson and 6 emerging artists exhibit. If any of you have a chance to see Charles' artwork,  go - it is quite surreal and truly evokes emotions from sadness, loneliness, and even laughter!

Another pet peeve of mine is when fine art gets mixed up with arts and crafts. I finally ran across a good definiton- Arts and crafts is objective and Fine Art is subjective. When we teach or make specific art projects without creative thought, we are teaching objectively. When we analyze art from history or even present day to find out how the art was made and what the artist was thinking and then give the students a chance to create their own in the same or similar manner, then we are teaching subjectively.
