I can't believe we are so far into school! Lines, shapes, and patterns are great elements of design to begin the art year. Color could be introduced as well to help teach paint mixing techniques and brush handling. After these basics are introduced orreviewed, three dimensional art can be tried. Paper mache animals made the Oxacans, African Masks, or Clay Totem Poles are fun experiences for the older elementary student. Halloween symbols for k-2nd and maybe 3rd grades can also be created in art projects. I have posted directions for the paper mache animals on my TPT store and I have posted two new art projects this week, one is a Halloween one for k-2nd graders. Mizz Mac
